The Birmingham Homecoming Committee’s soup supper and Santa Claus visit will be Saturday at the Birmingham Lions Building; the incorrect date was previously provided to The Ledger.

Serving will begin at 5 p.m., and Santa will arrive at 5:30 p.m., with treats for children. From 7-8:30 p.m., a Christmas party for children, with stories, crafts and snacks, will be at the Birmingham Library.

The proceeds from the soup supper and Santa visit will help fund the 2014 Birmingham Homecoming.


The Lions will meet for a Christmas party at 7 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church.


The Over 50 and Fabulous Red Hat Ladies will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lions building. The Lions will serve the meal. Lois Nicholson and JoAnn Denniston are the hostesses.


The Presbyterian Ladies will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the church for a potluck dinner. Roll Call will be a Bible verse about “love.” Janet Meek is the hostess and in charge of devotions and the program. Mystery sisters will be revealed.


The Methodist church board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the church.
