The Birmingham Lions Club will have a chicken-strip dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday at the club’s building.

Mashed potatoes, gravy, salads and desserts also will be served. The dinner is a fundraiser for the Lions.


The annual Easter egg hunt will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Birmingham City Park.

Children ages 0-3 will meet at the shelter. Children ages 4-7 will meet at the water tower, and children ages 8-12 will meet at the cabin for sign up and prizes.

Dean and Sandy Bass are in charge.


The Birmingham Lions Club will have its regular meeting Monday at the Lions building.

The April committee is Randy Householder and Harry Anderson.


The Over 50 and Fabulous Red Hat Ladies will meet at 11:30 a.m. April 9 at Pizza Ranch in Fairfield.

Virginia VanNess and Lois Nicholson are hostesses.


The Presbyterian Ladies will meet at 7 p.m. April 10 at the church.

Roll-call response will be a Bible verse about “Believe.”

Hostess JoAnn Denniston will present devotions and the program. Spring workshops are 8:30 a.m. April 18 at Marion and April 20 at Columbus Junction.


The Birmingham Methodist Church board will meet at 7 p.m. April 10 at the church.
