Blood donors eligible for gifts, prizes

Jefferson County PM

Jefferson County PM will host a community blood drive 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 19 are eligible to give at this drive.

For appointments to donate, contact the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5032 to locate the drive. All presenting donors will have a choice of a gift card or a long-sleeved shirt.

 

Parkview Care Center

Parkview Care Center will host a community blood drive 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday in The Oaks Lounge.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 19 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will have a choice of a gift card or a long-sleeved shirt.

 

Batavia

Batavia will host a community blood drive from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Batavia Community/Senior Center.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 19 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will have a choice of a gift card or a long-sleeved shirt.

 

Fairfield Arts & Convention Center

Fairfield Arts & Convention Center will host a community blood drive 3-6 p.m. Nov. 15 in its Smith Meeting Room.

For appointments to donate, call the blood center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5396 to locate the drive. Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 20 are eligible to give at this drive. All donors will get a Blend Card for 10 percent off one 2017 Artist Series ticket and be entered to win two tickets for a 2017 Artist Series show. All presenting donors also will receive a gift card or long-sleeved shirt.

 

Birmingham Lions Club

Birmingham Lions Club will host a community blood drive from 3-6 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Birmingham Lions Building.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 21 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will have a choice of a gift card or a long-sleeved shirt.

 

Information

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a parental permission form can donate. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds, and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be donors. For information about eligibility, call 800-747-5401.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center and Van Buren County Hospital.
