FORT MADISON — Roan Bachar netted three goals and assisted on the other four Thursday as the Trojan boys’ soccer team blasted Fort Madison 7-1 at Richmond Stadium in Fort Madison.

The Trojans’ Darrin Dimmitt also made a hat trick. Austin Lauderman had a goal and two assists, and Solomon Constant supplied one assist for the Trojans, who improve to 5-1 in the Southeast Conference and 9-5 overall.

“The team played very well, and we put the game away in the first half,” said Fairfield head coach Felisto Guezimane. “We went up 2-0 early in the game with goals from Darrin and Roan, with assists by Roan and Austin.”

Braxton Williams scored the only goal for the Bloodhounds in the 17th minute of the first half, and the match was delayed midway through the half due to lightning. The Hounds only trailed 2-1 when the game was held up.

But Fairfield led 5-1 at halftime and added two more goals in the second half.

“We slowed down a bit in the second half to keep us fresh for tonight’s game. I needed to keep some players fresh for an important back-to-back game tonight,” Guezimane explained. Fairfield is scheduled to visit Keokuk tonight in what’s expected to be a close one. They nipped the Chiefs 1-0 Monday at Trojan Stadium.
