Bronx Wanderers to sing classics

Apr 25, 2014

The Bronx Wanderers will bring the top songs of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s in style with their authentic doo-wop vocals and rip-roaring rock ’n’ roll beats, at 7:30 p.m. May 2 to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.

With superlative vocals and musicianship, dynamic enthusiasm and a genuine love of the music they perform, The Bronx Wanderers tells the stories and performs the music that will take listeners as close as they can get to actually having lived on an avenue in the Bronx in the 1950s and 1960s. The audience will hear hits from doo-wop and pop greats, such as The Four Seasons, Dion and the Belmonts and Paul Anka as well as some timeless hits from bands like The Beatles, Beach Boys and Bee Gees.

With the lovingly engaging dose of pure Italian “famiglia” of Yo’ Vinny and his two sons, Vinney “The Kid” and Nicky “Stix,” the show is nonstop entertainment. Tap into their infectious energy and enjoy the music that skyrocketed classics like “American Graffiti,” “Happy Days” and “A Bronx Tale” to immediate success.

Rock, sway, sing and dance as Bronx Wanderers takes the audience on a live show, powerhouse journey of favorites such as “Sherry,” “Runaway,” “We Gotta Get Out Of This Place,” “Teenager in Love,” “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” and “Looking for an Echo” mixed with a splash of recent hits like Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.”
