The Fairfield Art Association announces the 2017 Membership Art Exhibit and calls for adult area artists to enter their artwork.

This year the format theme is “6” X 6” Canvas Multiples” and will feature work in any media or mixed media. Artists can choose to work on one to four separate canvases that should be designed to hang together in any direction. Each canvas has 1.5 inch deep profile sides.

The FAA will provide all the canvases. Canvases can be picked up 1-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the FAA studio.

Specific guidelines will be given when the canvas is picked up, but the basic requirements include a current FAA membership; anyone can join at this time. The entry fee is $5 per canvas and you can choose one or up to four with the canvas being included in the fee.

Additional requirements are having the entry for sale with commission of 30 percent to FAA and 70 percent to the artist, the sides of the canvas should be treated as part of the art piece, and no frames or hanging wires. Completed artwork must be delivered to the FAA Studio by Nov. 28.

The 2017 Membership Exhibit will open Dec. 1, in the Main Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center and remain on display through February. In December, a “People’s Choice Prize” will be given, which includes tickets to a Sondheim theater Artist’s Series show, and there will be cash awards presented to four outstanding entries during an award event in February.
