Cardinal places several Archers in Top 10

The Cardinal Shooting Comets participated in the archery tournament in Ottumwa Saturday at Evans Middle School.

The Cardinal elementary team finished first with a team total of 2,531, led by Lauren Sloan and Ava Ballard who shot 232 and 214, for fifth and eighth place overall finishes, respectively.

The elementary boys were led by Colton Zaputil’s 255 for second place, Chase Johnson who placed eighth with a 239 and six 10s and Keaton Pottorff who placed ninth with 239 and four 10s.

Cardinal Middle School placed second with a score of 3,175, anchored by Allison Sloan’s second place finish with a score of 278, while Aleta Bossler placed fifth with a 272. Micheal Mullikin placed third with a score of 279 for the boys, Montana Rupe placed fifth with 275 and Dylan Telfer placed sixth with a 274.

Grace Erdman Sallee placed eighth for the high school team with 280, while Danielle Jamison shot a 278 for 19th place overall.
