Cardinal volleyball defeats Van Buren

The Cardinal volleyball team did not have any problems taking down Van Buren for the fourth time this season.

Cardinal (8-9) swept Van Buren 25-16, 25-15, 25-14. The Warriors (7-14) have only taken one set in their four games against the Comets this year.

Sophomores Dakota Durflinger and Cassidy McMartin had huge games for the Comets. Durflinger was 13 of 14 serving, and also pitched in with 11 kills and two blocks. McMartin ripped nine kills, didn’t miss on eight serves and recorded two blocks.

Senior Amy Hart went 11 of 12 serving with two aces. Hart also recorded nine digs and six kills. Fellow senior Leea Ostrander also had nine digs.

On the Van Buren side, Nicole Coffin had 14 digs, one ace and put down three kills.

Alicia Fitzsimmons went 12 for 14 serving while also totaling 10 digs and four kills.

Libby King helped her teammates with nine assists.
