Carnegie Museum Foundation partnering with Greater Jefferson County Foundation

The partnership allows donors to take advantage of Endow Iowa Tax Credits, but act early before the yearly limit is reached
May 04, 2017

The Carnegie Museum Foundation has created a new partnership with the Greater Jefferson County Foundation to allow donors to take advantage of the Endow Iowa tax credit.

Gifts can now be made to the Carnegie Museum Foundation of Jefferson County Endow Iowa Fund and receive a 25 percent state of Iowa income tax credit, in addition to the normal federal deduction.

A variety of gifts can qualify for Endow Iowa Tax Credits including cash, real estate, appreciated securities, and outright gifts of retirement assets and more.  Eligible gifts will qualify for credits on a first-come/first-serve basis until the yearly appropriated limit is reached.

Donors are encouraged to act early in the year. If the current available Endow Iowa Tax Credits have been awarded, qualified donors will be eligible for the next year’s Endow Iowa Tax Credits.

If anyone in the community has an interest in preserving Jefferson County History and has questions about how to give a charitable gift to the Carnegie Museum Foundation, contact Mark Shafer, curator of the museum, or Gloria Countryman, president of the Carnegie Museum Foundation, during museum hours:  1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and 6-9 p.m on Fairfield First Fridays.
