Caroline Ruth Daugherty

Caroline Ruth Daugherty, 97, of rural Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at home.

A graveside service is at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Green Glade Cemetery in Farmington, with Sheila Smith officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Isabelle Willey, 1183 233rd St., Mount Pleasant 52641.

Mrs. Daugherty was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Akron, Colo., the daughter of Charles Thomas and Edna Bell Wilkins. She married Franklin Harrison Daugherty, April 27, 1935, in Memphis, Mo. He died June 6, 1954.

She attended Troy High School.

She worked 26 years as an aide at a mental health facility in Mount Pleasant.

She enjoyed working in her garden, quilting, birds and flowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Isabelle Willey of Mount Pleasant and Donna Daugherty of Batavia; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cora Mae Davis of Moulton, Mary Brooks of Harlan and Gladys Shelton of Hot Springs, Ark.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Johnny Daugherty, four sisters and one brother.
