‘Chicken Revolution’ workshop set

May 17, 2018

The Sustainable Living Coalition is hosting “The Chicken Revolution: A Poultry-centered Regenerative Agriculture Model” Saturday through Monday.

The three-day event, with Reginaldo Haslett-Maroquin of the Main Street Project in Minnesota, is a how-to workshop to learn what to do to help implement the practical, profitable egg and poultry production system in Jefferson County and help regenerate Iowa’s food system.

Everyone is welcome to attend a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Abundance EcoVillage.

Sunday’s events at the Sustainable Living Center on the Maharishi University of Management campus will start with a meet-and-greet, including coffee and tea, from 9:30-10 a.m. A workshop on poultry-centered regenerative agriculture design, operation and business planning will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by lunch from 12:30-1:45 p.m.

The event continues from 10-11:30 p.m. Monday at the Sustainable Living Building.
