Close race in baseball even closer in softball

SEC softball

Keokuk 7-5

Fairfield 6-6

Mt. Pleasant 6-6

Washington 6-6

Fort Madison 5-7

 

The Trojans are right in the thick of it with games remaining against the Chiefs Thursday at the middle school field before they end their regular season Monday at Mt. Pleasant.

Fairfield beat Fort Madison 1-0 in game one back on June 4, but fell 4-2 in the night cap. Eight days later, the Trojans swept the Panthers with 5-0 and 10-2 wins.

Fairfield 10-2

Mt. Pleasant 9-3

Washington 9-3

Keokuk 2-8

Fort Madison 0-12

 

The Trojans control their own destiny with games remaining against Keokuk Thursday and at Mt. Pleasant Monday.

Fairfield was 4-0 against the Chiefs and Panthers, respectively, the first time they played and their only two conference losses have come versus Washington who they split the season series against.
