Commercial ag weed, insect, plant disease class set

A Commercial Ag Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Management Continuing Instructional Course for commercial pesticide applicators will be Wednesday at the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office. The program will be shown at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pest Management and the Environment program.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the course runs from 9-11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $35. Call the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office at 472-4166 to register.

The course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 1A, 1B, 1C and 10.

Topics to be covered include equipment calibration and safe application techniques, drift management, pesticide labels, pesticide stewardship, pests and pest management.

Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units in pest management will be offered at theprogram. Any interested participant should bring his or her CCA number.
