Congregate Meals: May 12-16, 2014

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday — Salisbury steak and gravy, O’Brien potatoes, cabbage and carrots, fresh fruit.

Tuesday — creamed turkey, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges.

Wednesday — breaded chicken breast, parsley butter potato, green beans almandine, peaches, fruited yogurt.

Thursday — sweet and sour pork, brown rice, Brussels sprouts, banana, ice cream cup.

May 16 — cheesy potato-crusted fish fillet, oven-roasted baby potato, creamed asparagus, oranges and pineapple.

Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread or muffins and margarine are offered with all meals.

Frozen or shelf-stable meals are available for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis. For a person 60 years old or older and his or her spouse of any age, the suggested contribution is $3.50. The suggested contribution for a home-delivered meal is $4.

An individual younger than 60 must pay the full cost of the meal; the cost is posted at the meal site.

Reservations for meals at Fairfield must be made one day in advance at the center or by calling 472-4403.

For reservations at Lockridge, call 319-696-2086.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield.
