Congregate Meals Menu: May 1-5, 2017

Congregate meals planned at Fairfield, Lockridge senior sites

Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its congregate meals menu for the coming week.

Monday — sweet and sour pork, brown rice, roasted Brussels sprouts, banana, ice cream.

Tuesday — baked chicken, scalloped potatoes, roasted asparagus, peach-strawberry-banana medley.

Wednesday — tuna noodle casserole, broccoli with cheese sauce, mixed green lettuce salad with assorted dressings, peach crisp.

Thursday — roast beef, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, Copper Penny Salad, diced cantaloupe.

May 5 — potato-crusted fish fillet, oven-roasted red potatoes, green pea-onion salad, fruit and yogurt parfait.

Each meal includes wheat dinner roll or bread, margarine and skim milk.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.

Reservations for meals must be made one day in advance. Reservations at the Fairfield site can be made at the senior center or by calling 472-4403. For reservations at the Lockridge site, call 319-696-2086.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Check at the senior citizen site for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center, such as on Memorial Day May 29.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Senior Center.
