Monday’s Fairfield City Council meeting was a brief 45-minute affair, leaving plenty of time at the end for councilors to speak on projects they’ve undertaken. Councilor Michael Halley told the council about fundraising efforts for the town’s 175th Anniversary July 4-6. The 175th Anniversary committee is selling T-shirts for $15, quilt raffle tickets for $1 a piece or six for $5, commemorative scented candles (in black on ledge) with a laser engraving on the lid for $25, and a commemorative pot (on right on ledge) f or $25. These items may be purchased at city hall, the Fairfield Iowa Visitors Bureau and during 1st Fridays Art Walk July 4.
