Dec 19, 2012
PHOTO SUBMITTED Students from the Temple Studio of Fine Art & Dance perform recently at the SunnyBrook Living Care Center. The group will be performing again at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.

Community members are invited to a Holiday Dance & Music Celebration at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.

The program features the students of Temple Studio of Fine Art & Dance, which is directed by Rebecca Bachar, performing traditional Isadora Duncan dances as well as new works.

Bachar, who studied ballet for 30 years before switching to the Isadora Duncan dance method, explained the Duncan style is an alternative to ballet, and has no harmful positions.

The program also includes Middle Eastern dances by Regine Constant and performances by Nature’s Dance students.

Live music also will be part of the program: “Ave Maria,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Gypsy Serenade” and many others.

Flowers and treats, courtesy of Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store and Everybody’s Whole Foods and Bachar, will be given.

The Temple Studio students presented a similar program Saturday at SunnyBrook Living Care Center.
