Druzilla F. Clark Educators Foundation  awards May 18

Apr 26, 2018

The Druzilla F. Clark Educators Foundation will hold its second annual awards presentation at 4 p.m. May 18 at the Elm Grove School on the Greater Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

Immediately following the awards program, there will be a social hour at the Fairfield Golf & Country Club followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

The entire event is open to the public. Reservations for the dinner must be made in advance, by May 11, by calling the board’s publicity chairwoman Gloria Countryman at 472-9041.

The Druzilla Clark Educators Foundation was begun by a young man who had Mrs. Clark as his elementary teacher many years ago. Mrs. Clark stayed connected with the donor through his school years and on throughout his life and career. Because she helped him so much throughout his life, he promised he would do something very significant in her name to help other educators become successful and significant in the lives of their students as Mrs. Clark did with him.

The primary goal of the donor is to help seek out and promote high quality educators in both the Fairfield and Cardinal schools.

The DFC Educators Foundation will distribute a total of $56,000 to first-year teachers in both districts for successful completion of their contract year and to each “Teacher of the Year” in both districts for outstanding service to their students. The foundation’s donor wants to honor today’s dedicated teachers and encourage them and others in this profession toward excellence in the teaching profession. To quote the donor:, “Teachers touch so many lives each year in both small and large ways. Teachers are on the front lines of our future.”

It is the donor’s hope that this foundation is supported by community members. Donations, large or small, corporate or individual, are encouraged and welcome. Information regarding the Druzilla F. Clark Educators Foundation can be found at dfclarkfoundation.org or through informational brochures which are available upon request.
