Elementary Art Show set

PHOTO SUBMITTED Fairfield Community School District elementary art teacher Debbie Finney looks through the cutout of an “American Gothic” spoof. Spoofs of several famous paintings will be available for photos at the Fairfield Elementary Art Show this weekend.

The Fairfield Community School District’s annual Elementary Art Show will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Pence Elementary School.

The gym and hallways of Pence school will be transformed into an art gallery to feature artwork created by every student in kindergarten through fourth-grade at Washington and Pence elementary schools in the Fairfield school district.

The exhibit will include everything from pottery made by kindergartners to print-making self portraits by the fourth-grade class members.

Also, available for photography fun during the art show will be spoofs of various famous paintings like “Mona Lisa,” “American Gothic,” “Whistler’s Mother” and “The Scream.”

Debbie Finney is the elementary art teacher for Fairfield Community School District.

Community members are invited to attend the exhibit.

Admission to the Elementary Art Show is free.
