The Fairfield Elks Lodge awards a Community Investment Grant to the Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties to provide free passes to the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center for people with developmental disabilities.

The over 400 visits funded by the grant will focus primarily on adolescents. The Arc has mailed letters to homes where a qualified individual resides and provided announcements through media outlets.

The free passes were made possible by a grant from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

Through its Community Investments Program, the Elks National Foundation awards grants to local Elks lodges to help them strengthen their communities. This year, the Elks National Foundation will award $6.5 million in grants to benefit Elks communities.

To get involved with this or other Elks lodge projects, email Project Manager Douglas Bagby at dglasbagby@yahoo.com.
