End of Summer Rally opens Friday

KEOSAUQUA — The 24th Annual End of Summer Rally will be Friday through Sunday at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds in Keosauqua.

The gates open at noon Friday. The cost for a weekend ticket is $30 at the gate. Advance tickets are $25. In the Keosauqua area, contact Linda Kennedy at 319-878-3335 for advance tickets.

No one under 21 years of age can enter the grounds; no pets are allowed. Food, camping, free firewood and hot showers are available.

Special events include the Fun Run through Lacey-Keosauqua State Park at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The motorcycle pulling sled begins at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Saturday events also include poker run sign-up at 10 a.m., with the payout at 3 p.m.; the bike show at 11:30 a.m.; and the bike rodeo at 2 p.m.

Sunday events include a worship service by the Christian Motorcycle Association at 9 a.m. No races will be held Sunday.

Live music is planned all weekend.

Friday night features Poppa Squat and Outlaw Jim & The Whiskey Benders. Samantha Fish, winner of the BMA for Best New Artist Debut, will be the headliner.

Saturday evening entertainment includes Road King and the Miles Adams Band. Sonny Landreth, who is scheduled to tour with BB King and Peter Frampton, will be the headline act.
