A Fairfield boy who went missing at age 15 is still unaccounted for almost five years later.

Freddy Workman of Fairfield walked out of a boys’ home in Des Moines on Aug. 2, 2013. Law enforcement has searched for him ever since, following up on leads in Washington, California, Oklahoma, Illinois and Missouri, to no avail.

When he was last seen in 2013, Workman measured 5-foot-7, weighed 145 pounds, had short blonde hair and blue eyes. He will turn 20 years old in May.

His mother, Anna Shields, said her son “has missed out on so much of his family,” and that she badly wants to see him again.

“We haven’t heard anything from him since he disappeared,” she said.

Shields and her husband Kelly live in Fairfield.

Workman’s father, Mike Workman, lives in Davenport with his wife.

Anyone with information about Workman is asked to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST.
