Fairfield First Fridays celebrates summer with ‘Party in The Park’

Celebrate the summer season at Fairfield First Fridays 6-10 p.m. Friday in Central Park.

Steve and Michaela McLain will play 6-9:30 p.m. in the Central Park Ron Prill Bandstand.

At 7 p.m., Jefferson County Trails Council will announce the winner of its third annual Scavenger Hunt. For details about the trails council and its events, visit the Fairfield First Fridays tent Friday evening in Central Park.

Fairfield First Fridays has added lawn games to the outdoor events for friendly competitions with family and friends. Lawn Jenga, corn hole, lawn bowling, ladder ball, Yardzee, four-in-a-row, lawn checkers, horseshoes and several others will be set up in Central Park.

Vendors with food, art and more will be set up in Central Park.

Many stores, galleries, restaurants and other venues will be open late Friday, with art and activities; a few are listed below:

• Americus Gallery will be showing Christopher Kufner’s original oil paintings, featuring Italian/French landscapes, figurative works and large-format photography on archival paper of the Tuscan countryside; original oil paintings by Kim Kufner; watercolor and ink paintings by Genevra Bell; pastel farm landscapes by Gordon Kellenberger; art glass vases by David Lotton; leaping koi sculptures by Dale Divoky; and diochroic glass jewelry by Pedro Lujano.

• Carnegie Historical Museum will be open for visitors to explore its various historical displays.

• Crest Jewel will have a new show, “The Many Moods of the Guru Purnima Moon,” by Richard Trice, which is a tapestry of real July full moon photos blended into scenic moonscapes to reveal the moon’s mystical expressions. Also mixed media paintings by David Kupferman and Terrence Kennedy will be exhibited.

• Fairfield Art Association, in the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, will have “To Iowa with Love: A Solo Exhibit by Julie Suzanne Brokken” in the Main Gallery. People also an vote for “The Most Totally Tuned In” entry in the summer art installation of “See The Music-Tune Into Our Vibe” in the Main Gallery.

• Henderson’s Gallery & Framing will have various artists’ work on display in the main gallery.

• ICON Gallery has a new exhibit, “Prototypes: Creative Work by Allen Cobb. Images, Installations, Slides and Video.”

• Revelations will have John Schirmer’s paintings, Peter Clemens’s yantras, and Jennifer Blair’s canvas prints.
