Fairfield girls' soccer ends season with 9-0 victory

The Fairfield girls’ soccer team defeated Mid-Prairie 9-0 Thursday at Dexter Soccer Complex to finish off the regular season.

Huma Liptak scored four more goals, which brings her season total up to 24 in just 15 games. Tracy Andermann, Erica Winslow, Morgan Neil, Claudia Sloat and Courtney Gilmore each scored one goal.

Fairfield is now 12-3, and will take on Washington in the first round of the regional playoffs. The Trojans are 2-0 against the Demons this season.

“[Washington] has a goalkeeper that is very strong,” Fairfield coach Michiel Hekker said. “We’re going to have to create more opportunities and have better decision making during the game.”

The regional game will be in Fairfield at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
