Fairfield High School hosting blood drive

Fairfield High School will host a community blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the school gym.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Oct. 4 are eligible to give at this drive.

For appointments to donate, contact a member of the FHS Student Council or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5023 to locate the drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a completed parental permission form can donate; forms are available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. For questions about eligibility, call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-747-5401.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center.
