Fairfield high-schoolers to tour Agri-Industrial Plastics Monday

Oct 13, 2017

Agri-Industrial Plastics and the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering to show high school students the great variety of careers available in advanced manufacturing.

On Monday, Fairfield High School students are invited to Agri-Industrial Plastics from 10 a.m. to noon on their “No School Monday.”

Students will be participating in an activity about “Life After High School,” tour the facility, hear from a panel of employees and wrap up with a free lunch of pizza.

The event is part of a series called Fairfield WORKS!, a program started by the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce last spring to showcase career opportunities available in the Fairfield area to local high school students.

In addition to showcasing careers and the “many pathways to prosperity,” students also discuss life skills, such as personal finance, insurance, resume development and interview skills, which will help them succeed as adults.

This program is relevant to both students planning to obtain a college degree and those who plan to directly enter the workforce after high school.

Pre-registration is required for the event. Those interested in registering, receiving an email reminder for all upcoming Fairfield WORKS! events, or have questions about the program, can email chamber event coordinator Brittney Tiller at events@fairfieldiowa.com.
