Fairfield, Lockridge congregate meals; Fairfield school meals

Fairfield, Lockridge congregate meals

Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.

The menu for the coming week is:

Monday — sweet and sour pork, brown rice, roasted brussels sprouts, banana, ice cream.

Tuesday — tuna noodle casserole, broccoli with cheese sauce, mixed green lettuce salad with dressing, peach crisp.

Wednesday — roast beef, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, Copper Penny Salad, diced cantaloupe.

Thursday — baked chicken, scalloped potatoes, breaded tomatoes, peach-strawberry-banana medley.

May 4 — potato-crusted fish fillet, oven-roasted fed potatoes, green pea and onion salad, fruit and yogurt parfait.

Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.

Reservations for meals are required one day in advance. At the Fairfield site, reservations can be made either at the senior center or by calling 472-4403. At the Lockridge site, reservations must be called in to 319-696-3450 by 6 p.m.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

Cards and other activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.

Fairfield school meals

Fairfield Community School District has listed its lunch menu for the coming week.

Preschools:

Monday — breakfast: ultimate breakfast round. Lunch: meatball sub, baked beans, applesauce, milk.

Tuesday — breakfast: cream cheese-filled bagel. Lunch: cheesy Trojan bread with marinara, pears, milk.

Wednesday — breakfast: muffin with string cheese. Lunch: beef and cheese soft taco, corn, raisins, milk.

Thursday — breakfast: doughnut holes. Lunch: pancakes, egg and sausage patty, tri-tater, fresh fruit, milk.

Friday — breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: cheese-filled breadstick, broccoli with dip, fresh fruit, milk.

Elementary schools:

Monday — breakfast: ultimate breakfast round. Lunch: meatball sub, baked beans, baby carrots, applesauce, milk.

Tuesday — breakfast: cream cheese-filled bagel. Lunch: cheesy Trojan bread, marinara, steamed broccoli, pears, milk.

Wednesday — breakfast: muffin with string cheese. Lunch: beef and cheese soft taco, corn, salsa, frozen fruit cup, milk.

Thursday — breakfast: doughnut holes. Lunch: pancakes, egg and sausage patty, tri-tater, celery sticks, fresh fruit, milk.

Friday — breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: hot dog on bun, green beans, broccoli with dip, fresh fruit, milk.

Fairfield Middle School:

Monday — breakfast: ultimate breakfast round. Lunch: meatball sub or BBQ Rib patty on bun, baked beans, applesauce, milk, fresh garden bar.

Tuesday — breakfast: cream cheese-filled bagel. Lunch: cheesy Trojan bread with marinara or chicken Parmesan, steamed broccoli, pears, milk, fresh garden bar.

Wednesday — breakfast: muffin with string cheese. Lunch: beef and cheese soft taco or chicken and cheese soft taco, corn, frozen fruit cup, milk, fresh garden bar.

Thursday — breakfast: doughnut holes. Lunch: pancakes or biscuit, egg and sausage patty, tri-tater, fresh fruit, milk, fresh garden bar.

Friday — breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: hot dog on bun or cook’s choice, green beans, fresh fruit, milk, fresh garden bar.

Fairfield High School:

Monday — breakfast: breakfast pizza. Lunch: Tasty Traditions — chicken bacon wrap. The Grill — beef and cheddar wrap. Sides: baked beans, raisels, cookie, milk.

Tuesday — breakfast: biscuits and gravy. Lunch: Tasty Traditions — cheese pizza. The Grill — pepperoni pizza, sausage pizza. Sides: savory carrots, pears, milk.

Wednesday — breakfast: funnel cake. Lunch: The Bar — pasta. Sides — steamed broccoli, garlic breadstick, rosy applesauce, milk.

Thursday — breakfast: biscuits and gravy. Lunch: Tasty Traditions — sloppy joe on bun. Cultural Cuisine — Italian grilled chicken on bun. Sides — cheesy cauliflower, peaches, milk.

Friday — breakfast: doughnut holes. Lunch: Tasty Traditions — chicken nuggets with homemade roll. Cultural Cuisine — country-fried pork chop with homemade roll. Sides: mashed potatoes, mixed fruit, milk.
