Fairfield school fees payment due

Although many students are still enjoying all of the rest, fun and excitement that summer has to offer, Fairfield Community School District parents are gearing up to pay school fees for the coming 2017-18 school year.

School fees, which include book rental, lunch, activity, parking and instrumental music fees can be paid online or in person from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. now at the Administrative/Curriculum/Technology Center.

Districtwide fee payment day for kindergarten through 12th-grade students is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Aug. 10, in the Fairfield High School Commons. The location is different from where it has been in years past.

Fee schedules are as follows: book fees for high school, $60; middle school, $50; elementary students, $45. Preschool fees are $70 per month. For grades sixth-eighth, the instrumental fee is $10; ninth-12th graders pay $15. The maximum family amount is $25.

Activity tickets cost $35 for high school students and $25 for middle schoolers. The fee is $65 for adults. The all-season activity fees for a family is $130. Those 62 years and older pay $20.

Students who wish to park on school grounds should contact the high school office after fee payment day to fill out the necessary forms and pay parking fees. Parking fees are non-refundable.

Lunch prices for high school and middle schoolers is $2.60; elementary lunch is $2.45. Adults pay $3.55 for lunch. Breakfast is $1.90 for all students and adults. A 20-count milk ticket for an elementary student is $8. Middle and high school students will pay 40 cents for an extra carton of milk or juice. Those needing meal assistance should complete an Iowa eligibility application form found online at www.fairfieldsfuture.org under the district wide fee payment packet or contact the districts food services director, Stephanie Hawkins at 472-2655 Ext. 6703. Blank forms are also available at the ACT building.

According to a FCSD news release, fee payment packets will be mailed to parents on July 27.

New FCSD families are encouraged to enroll their students for the new school year at A.C.T. Center.

Enrollment an occur anytime after district residency is established.

Elementary Open House is from 4-5:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at Pence and Washington elementaries. Middle School Open House is from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Fairfield Middle School. Freshman orientation is from 6-7 p.m. Aug. 31. The high school Welcome Back Ice Cream Social is from 7-7:30 p.m. Aug. 18.

The first day of school is Sept. 5, and each building will have normal school hours. For more information, contact the A.C.T. Center at 472-2655.
