Fairfield’s junior varsity volleyball continues winning legacy

Head Coach Vicki Rebling and the Fairfield junior varsity volleyball team finished their 2017 Southeast Conference season undefeated at 8-0, and 16-1 in sets versus the SEC, with a 2-0 victory at Washington Oct. 12.

The final conference game against the Demons saw the team record a season high 17 kills on the night while hitting at an 85 percent success rate. Team serving was 45 out of 48 with 5 aces.

The Trojans were 18-9 overall and defeated each conference foe twice plus Pekin, Danville, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Seymour, Davis County, and Centerville twice. They also beat Davenport Central, North Polk, and Marshalltown.

Fairfield fell to non-conference opponents Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Bettendorf, North Polk, Oskaloosa, Pella Christian, Indianola, Marshalltown, Ottumwa and Ankeny.

Coach Rebling added, “Congratulations to all members of this team on a terrific season!”
