The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center will host the fourth annual Southeast Iowa Farm Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.

It has quickly become one of the state’s biggest exhibitions of agricultural machinery, seed and technology, grain handling and more to assist in today’s farming operations.

Later that evening, the rocking country band Little Texas will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts. The band’s No. 1 hits include “God Blessed Texas,” “What Might Have Been,” and “My Love.” Tickets range in price from $15 to $40.

“We are excited for the momentum coming into our fourth year of the Farm Show as we have the most exhibitors we have ever had and country music super-group Little Texas taking the stage following the show,” said Tracy Hammes, farm show co-chair. “We will again have farm machinery covering Main Street in front of the center and have brought back the Jefferson County Pork Producers to offer lunch to attendees from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

New at this year’s farm show is farm-wife, mother and funny grandma Susie O, who gives her take on “Kids, Crops, Sows and Cows – Life Happens, Learn to Bounce,” with wit and wisdom at 11 a.m. in the Sondheim theater.

“You don’t have to be involved in agriculture to enjoy Susie’s presentation,” said Rachel Anderson, the convention center’s event manager. “If you like to laugh and be inspired at the same time, this free opportunity should be on your list for farm show Saturday.”
