PHOTO SUBMITTED Fairfield Art Association will host its annual Fairfield High School Student Art Show, with work like Jill Dunlap’s, during April.

The Fairfield Art Association announces the 2018 Annual Fairfield High School Student Art Show will be on display during the month of April in the Main Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

An opening reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday for the artists, family and friends.

“There will be over 175 pieces, from 13 different classes, that will be on display,” said David Kraemer, FHS art instructor. “There will be a wide range of mediums to view, including; charcoal, acrylic, watercolor, oil, clay, pewter, ink, and pastels. Please come and see the outstanding works created by our FHS art students.”

This exhibit is free and open to the public during the Fairfield Art & Convention Center’s regular business hours and during events in the building.

Fairfield Art Association also is hosting local artist Kathy Tollenaere with a display of her recent artworks in the Hallway Gallery outside the association’s studio.

Tollenaere will be showing a variety of pieces, including delicate detailed bird sketches that remind you of John James Audubon’s famous drawings.

Tollenaere is not new to the Fairfield art scene, having been an active artist for decades and a past president of the Fairfield Art Association, along with hosting garden tours. Many years ago she had a small art gallery in her home. Her love of nature definitely contributes to her creative subject matter and will be especially enjoyable this spring season.

The Fairfield Art Association Sales Gallery will be open during the Friday evening event, with it’s ever changing art by its members.
