A group of 27 Fairfield High School students are taking their learning to another level this year during their Intro to Theatre class. The students, who are mostly 10th-12th-graders, are doing everything from crafting sets to undertaking technical work to selecting costumes to creating posters for their first production, which is at 7:30 p.m. May 23 inside the FHS auditorium. FHS English/language arts and assistance speech teacher Kevin Hosbond said the class would be performing “Metamorphoses” by award-winning playwright and director Mary Zimmerman. The production will be the first of its kind for students enrolled in his Intro to Theatre class. FHS Intro to Theatre students Julia Fritz and Kelly Petersen measure wood that will be used for the set during their performance later this month.
