Jul 10, 2018

The Fairfield Fire Department reports the following:

Monday

12:50 p.m. — Fairfield Fire Department provided mutual aid to Lockridge Fire and Rescue. A possible structure fire was reported at Smoketree and Highway 34.

4:04 p.m. — An automatic fire alarm sounded at TrafFix Devices, 2303 West Jackson. The fire department’s response was called off.

5:35 p.m. — The fire department was called to 51 N. 12th to check for possible carbon monoxide. The department’s instruments found the highest level of CO to be 30 parts per million, which is a potentially dangerous level. The recommendation was for occupants to immediately leave the building, which is felt to be unsafe until repairs are made and the CO detector is replaced or reset.
