Fire spreads to second house in northeast Iowa

RICKARDSVILLE (AP) — A fire that began in a wood stove on the porch of one house spread to a second house in rural Dubuque County in northeast Iowa.

Station KDTH says the fire was reported Sunday afternoon at a home south of Rickardsville. The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office says the fire began in the wood stove on the front porch and spread to the house. Then it spread to a house nearby.

Firefighters from three departments battled the blaze. No injuries have been reported.

The cause is being investigated.
