Fairfield Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 5:45 p.m. Monday at 1974 Redwood. It started as a controlled burn. Firefighters used water to extinguish and returned to the fire station at 6:35 p.m.

Nine firefighters responded to a field fire at 1:44 p.m. Sunday at Izaak Walton, 200th Street. Water was used to extinguish the fire of unknown origin. Firefighters returned to the station at 3:50 p.m.

Firefighters responded to an automatic alarm at 5:47 p.m. Saturday at SunnyBrook Living Care Center and returned to the station at 6:04 p.m.

Firefighters responded at 6:59 a.m. Saturday to 606 E. Adams Ave., for smoke filling a house. Something was left cooking on a stove and filled the house with smoke. Fans were used to clear the house. Firefighters returned to the station at 7:01 a.m.
