FMS, Elks honor October Students of the Month

Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School “Students of the Month” award to acknowledge positive contributions of students at school, such as assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom.

Students of the Month certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade-level teaching team.

Gabe Tejada is a fifth-grade Student of the Month for October. His certificate states he “is a student that can be counted on. He is always prepared when he comes to class, and comes to school with a good attitude. He respects himself, his teachers and his classmates. Gabe is helpful in class and always tries to find ways to challenge himself. Gabe can be counted on to do the right thing, even if he isn’t being watched. He participates in class and isn’t afraid to try.”

Cassidy Mallinger is a fifth-grade Student of the Month for October. Her certificate states “Cassidy has a positive attitude, and she always puts forth her best effort. She treats others with kindness and is a good leader when working in a group. Cassidy is a great example of Trojan PRIDE because she can always be counted on to do what is right.”

Carley Seeley is a sixth-grade Student of the Month for October. Her certificate states she “is a bundle of positive energy who gives 100% all the time. She is always cheerful and has a smile on her face. She is a willing helper who is dependable and a wonderful example of Trojan PRIDE.”

Sam Weaton is a sixth-grade Student of the Month for October. His certificate states he “is a hard worker who shows great effort in the classroom. Sam has a positive attitude and is always willing to help his peers. Sam is a responsible student who does a great job balancing his classroom work with the many extra curricular activities he is involved in.”

Emily Gerleman is a seventh-grade Student of the Month for October. Her certificate states “Emily is a hard worker, who sincerely cares about her learning. She has a sense of self and her needs; therefore she takes the initiative to remove herself from distractions. Emily also can be described as positive and polite.”

Dillan Post is a seventh-grade Student of the Month for October. His certificate states “Dillan can be seen through the hallways having a smile on his face along with a positive, infectious attitude. He comes to class ready to learn and he asks good questions. He also has a good mindset when things are challenging. ... continue your high fives, fist bumps, and friendly greetings!”

Zoey Allison is an eighth-grade Student of the Month for October. Her certificate states: “A new addition to our middle school ‘family’ this year, Zoey Allison has shown that she fits right in. A valuable contributor to class discussions, Zoey can be relied on to exhibit every aspect of Trojan PRIDE. She is consistently cheerful, helpful, and kind to everyone. Her work is always completed on time and is well done.”

Ethan Hunger is an eighth-grade Student of the Month for October. His certificate states he “demonstrates the characteristics of Trojan PRIDE on a daily basis. In class he completes and turns in his work on time and does a great job working with others in both large and small groups. Ethan does a great job listening to his teachers and obeying the rules and expectations for each class he is in, even when no one is watching or monitoring him.”
