FMS honors Students of Month

Fairfield Middle School and Fairfield Elks Lodge has announced the first group of Students of the Month for the 2016-17 academic year.

Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the middle school’s Students of the Month award. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school. These positive contributions range from assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom.

The Students of the Month certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade-level teaching team.

The fifth-grade team selected Marcus Trent and Willow Larsen as September Students of the Month.

Trent’s certificate states, “He has started the year off by showing great Trojan PRIDE characteristics. He is attentive in class and chooses to participate daily. He is a pleasure to have in class.”

Larsen’s certificate states, “Willow has had a wonderful start to her year! Willow is a hard worker and always tries her best. She works well with others and is a great help in the classroom. I can count on her to do what is right, even when no one is watching.”

The sixth-grade team selected Morgan Amendt and Tate Richardson as September Student of the Month.

Amendt’s certificate states, “Morgan displays a great work ethic and positive attitude, striving to do her best at all times. Her wonderful smile is very contagious and makes a difference to all she interacts with.”

Richardson’s certificate states, “Tate works well with others, and has a positive attitude towards learning. He is a hard worker who strives to do his best at all times.Tate consistently chooses to do the right thing and is a great example of Trojan PRIDE through his words and actions.”

The seventh-grade team selected Hailey Triska and Carter Thompson as September Students of the Month.

Triska’s certificate states, “Hailey cares very much about her learning and really puts forth a lot of effort to make sure she understands what’s going on in class. She always has a positive attitude and is a critical thinker.”

Thompson’s certificate states, “Carter is always respectful to those around him. He has a great sense of humor, and shows maturity beyond his years. He is always willing to help others, and he is a natural leader. He shows integrity, even when others don’t.”

The eighth-grade team selected Autumn Lisk and Jason Engle as September Students of the Month.

Lisk’s certificate states, “Autumn comes to class with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude every day and she can always be counted on to do her best. Autumn also exhibits a great deal of integrity in her actions and is respectful to everyone.”

Engle’s certificate states, “Jason is a hard worker with a quick smile, and is always willing to give the extra effort on an assignment. He is a quiet leader, and is always polite to his teachers and classmates. Jason can be trusted, and counted on to do the right thing even when no one is looking. Jason is a prime example of what Trojan PRIDE stands for!”
