FMS Marching Band practice begins Tuesday

Aug 10, 2018

The Fairfield Middle School Marching Band will begin preparing for its 2018-19 debut performance next week.

The marching band, made up of seventh- and eighth-graders, will be performing in the Kiwanis Kids’ Day parade Sept. 15.

Practices are scheduled before the new school year begins.

Practices are scheduled as follows:

Tuesday and Thursday — 3 p.m. Drums and Flags are to meet in the FMS band room. Everyone else is to report at 4 p.m. Rehearsal will conclude at 5:30 p.m., with treats provided by Band Aides and various sponsors from the community.

“We also will be doing some marching outdoors, so wear comfortable shoes; no flip-flops — tennis shoes are best, and clothing appropriate for the temperature outdoors,” said FMS band director Mary Andersen.

Additional practices and a performance schedule will be distributed to students at the FMS open house. The open house is set from 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 30.

For information, contact Andersen via email at mary.andersen@fairfieldsfuture.org or call the school office at 472-5019 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
