FMS took on Ottumwa Monday night

The eighth grade volleyball team hosted Ottumwa on Monday.

The A team won a close match by the score of 13-21, 21-7, 15-13. The Trojans lost in Ottumwa earlier this season.

“Both teams are good, so it made for a great rematch,” coach Trisha Copeland said.

Ashley Pool led the team with five kills.

The B team tied by the score of 17-21, 21-16. Claire Christensen had 10 serves and Carin Corrick had two kills.

The C team won both sets 21-16. Abbey Gridley spiked three kills and Cami Schaefer made two kills of her own.

The D team tied with the scores of 20-22, 21-9.

The eighth graders wrap up their season Thursday in Washington.

The seventh graders traveled Monday to Ottumwa.

The A, B and D teams all won their matches, and the C team tied.

Olivia Roberts and Kara Jeffrey led the Trojans in kills. Jeffrey, Jill Dunlap and Rhylie Lisk led the team in serving.

The Trojans host Washington on Thursday. It’s the last game of the season.
