BATAVIA — Libertyville Church of the Brethren will host a free Folk Mountain Gospel concert with Don and Donna Mohl March 3.

The concert will be presented during the 10:30 a.m. service.

The Mohls have been traveling around the country for more than 24 years sharing the love of Jesus through song. They started in Texas with The Master’s Travelers, along with their sons Daniel and David. During the fall of 1989 through June 2010, they performed with Simply His; their sons traveled with them for three of those years. Now, after much prayer and encouragement from others, Don and Donna Mohl continue on as Folk Mountain Gospel traveling 49 weekends of the year and taking longer trips when possible.

The couple’s music is a blend of “mountain”-style and folk-style gospel. They play traditional and Biblical instruments: bowed psaltery, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, zither, guitar and harmonica. They sing “the good old hymns of faith,” recent gospel songs and songs written by their family.
