Former MLB player leading baseball camp

Feb 07, 2013

CENTERVILLE — Indian Hills Community College baseball coach Cam Walker will hold an advanced baseball camp for varsity players only Feb. 16-17 at IHCC’s indoor baseball facility, 721 N. First St., Centerville.

Walker will direct the camp as players receive private instruction in advanced pitching and hitting. Indian Hills assistant coaches Brandon Crisp, Brett Monaghan and Bartt Carney will assist Walker.

“We will teach fundamentals to improve a player’s capabilities so he’s prepared to play the game of baseball,” said Walker, who played for the Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres. “Equally important, we’ll show the campers techniques they can practice to improve their skills on their own after camp is over.”

The camp will be broken into two instructional sessions per day. In addition to private instruction, each player will receive video analysis.

The sessions on Feb. 16 will feature advanced pitching, while Feb. 17 sessions will feature advanced hitting.

The fee is $50 for any one session or $90 for both the pitching and hitting sessions. Interested campers can contact Crisp at 641-856-2143 or brandon.crisp@indianhills.edu.
