Foursquare plans fundraiser for campers Sunday

The Fairfield Foursquare Church will have a camp fundraiser beginning at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The youth who will be going to Kids Camp and Middle School Camp this summer will be serving a meal to earn money for the cost of camp.

The menu will include walking tacos, loose-meat hamburger sandwiches and nachos. The cost is a free-will donation.

A pie and baked goods auction is planned immediately after the meal.

The pies will be on display at 9:30 a.m.

Everyone is invited.

Open house set for retiring Egbert

Peg Egbert, director of Mobile United Methodist Missionaries for 18 years, is retiring.

The MUMMS board is hosting an open house for Egbert from 1-5 p.m. May 4 at the Albia United Methodist Church, with the program beginning at 3 p.m.

MUMMS is a pilot ministry launched as a result of the 1993 flood in the Ottumwa District. The ministry now stretches from the Mississippi River to the Missouri River across the southern tier of Iowa.

He also will be speaking during a brown-bag lunch-and-learn session at noon Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Call 472-4303 for information.
