Fourth of July holiday closures, hours announced

The Fourth of July is Tuesday, so many offices, businesses and services will be closed to observe the holiday.

Some offices in the Jefferson County Courthouse will be closed Monday. Call ahead to check.

City, county, state and federal offices will be closed Tuesday.

No congregate meals will be served Tuesday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

No summer meals will be served by the Fairfield Community School District Tuesday. The school district offices will be closed.

The Fairfield Public Library is closed Sunday following its normal summer hours, and it is closed Tuesday for the Fourth of July holiday.

The garbage and recycling collection in Fairfield will not be collected Tuesday. Collection will be a day late the remainer of the week. Households, with a normal collection day on Tuesday, will have their garbage and recycling picked up on Wednesday. Those with a regular collection day on Wednesday, will have a Thursday pickup, and so on.

The Roosevelt Community Recreation Center and Roosevelt Aquatic Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, and the outdoor pool will be open from 1-4 p.m.

The post office will be closed Tuesday, and no mail will be delivered.

The Fairfield Ledger will be closed, and no newspaper will be printed Tuesday.

Other businesses and offices could be closed and regularly scheduled activities could be canceled on Tuesday for the Fourth of July holiday; call ahead to check on schedules.
