Frances Erma Pitzer

Frances Erma Pitzer , 97, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of New London, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery, east of Winfield. Memorials can be made to Bible Missionary Church in Mt. Pleasant, and Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.

Mrs. Pitzer was born Feb. 26, 1919, on a farm near Morning Sun, the daughter of Lynn and Bertha VanHorne DeVore.

The family later moved to New London. She was a 1936 graduate of New London High School.

In 1958, Mrs. Pitzer became a Christian and attended the Church of God Holiness in Kansas, and later the Bible Missionary Church in Mt. Pleasant. She spent her life doing God’s work.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Hunter with husband Dave of Prescott Valley, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Lucille McDaniel and Ruby Walker; and one brother, Dean DeVore.
