Fundraising dinner to assist South Dakota rancher Friday

Dec 09, 2013

MOUNT PLEASANT — The Henry County Cattlemen are holding a fundraising steak dinner to help South Dakota ranchers devastated by the early and harsh October snow storm.

The dinner will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Manning Hall in Mount Pleasant.

Cattlemen will be serving a steak meal with all the trimmings. The cost is a minimum donation of $25 per meal, but anything above that will be gratefully accepted.

The Henry County Cattlemen are “adopting” a South Dakota rancher. Funds raised at the dinner will help the rancher buy heifers to rebuild his herd, explained Henry County’s Carl Lund, Lund is spearheading the event.

Everyone is invited.

Although there will not be a formal program, a South Dakota rancher will be present to “chew the fat” with anyone interested in chatting.
