Gala celebration Saturday

Jan 23, 2014

A Parisian-themed fundraising event for the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is planned at 6 p.m. Saturday at the convention center.

Tickets for “A Night on the Town: Gala Celebration” are $50; a reserved table is $400.

For tickets and information, visit the convention center’s website at www.fairfieldacc.com or call its ticket office at 472-2787.

While mingling on “the streets of Paris,” guests will encounter street performers, caricatures artists and can stop and take their photo with the Eiffel Tower.

Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store head chef Noah Lobell will prepare a variety of Parisian-inspired, tapa-style appetizers and entrees.

Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a wide range of items in silent and live auctions. Items include sports experience packages, weekend retreat packages, gift cards to restaurants, wines, desserts and much more. A list of items is on the convention center’s website under the gala event information.

Also during the gala, the center plans to honor the building campaign contributors, with the official unveiling of the new donor wall.

Designed by Fairfield artist and convention center co-founder Susan Kessel and created locally by Creative Edge Master Shop, the donor wall art takes on the shape of the neighboring Jefferson County Courthouse.
