Gospel Sing to open Van Buren County Fair

KEOSAUQUA – The traditional Gospel Sing will open the Van Buren County Fair at 7 p.m. July 9 at the Roberts Memorial Center on the Van Buren County Fairgrounds in Keosauqua..

The program will feature a countywide choir, with special performances by local musicians.

Those interested in participating should join the choir, and practices are at 7 p.m. Thursday and July 6 at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church.

Sydney Atwood will direct the choir, which will be accompanied by Marcie Atwood.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Gospel Sing.

Author to speak at Fairfield First Presbyterian

The First Presbyterian Church will begin a study of the book “Pursuing Pentecost – 50 Day Preparation for Revival,” and to kick things off, the book’s author, Charlotte Stangeland, will be speaking at the church at noon on Sunday.

“We are seeking a renewal of the spirit for our congregation and our community,” said Dawn Roemen of First Presbyterian.
