Gothic House center celebrating volunteers

Sep 20, 2013

ELDON — The American Gothic House Center will be recognizing its volunteers during a potluck event 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the center.

The American Gothic House Center hosted more than 15,000 visitors last year from across the United States and around the world. Holly Berg, the center’s administrator, said the facility could not undertake the feat without the help of its volunteer staff.

The theme for this year’s recognition event is “Volunteers are an essential piece of our museum,” and gifts and door prizes will relate to the theme.

Berg said all volunteers and their families are invited to attend. Those who are interested in volunteering also are invited to attend to learn more about volunteer opportunities and to meet other volunteers, she added.

Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share and to make reservations with Berg by calling 641-652-3352 or emailing TheAmericanGothicHouse@gmail.com.
