Handprints today, footprints tomorrow

By ANDY HALLMAN/Ledger photo | Jun 06, 2018

Fairfield High School seniors James Lyman, left, and Cecilia Faircrest paint the hand of Washington kindergartner Carter Vaughn May 18 outside the high school. Seniors and kindergartners engaged in a joint project whereby the kindergartners placed a painted handprint on a ceiling tile with their graduation year (2030) written on it, while the seniors placed a footprint on a ceiling tile with their graduation year on it. The ceiling tiles will be placed in the FHS Commons. This is a continuation of a tradition begun at Libertyville Elementary School, whose classes had put handprints on its ceiling tiles for years.
