Hazel J. “Jeannie” Roush, 83, of Keosauqua, died Monday, May 26, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

A private family burial of cremains will be at a later date in Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling.

Memorials to American Heart Association may be mailed to the family at 306 First St., Keosauqua 52565.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is assisting the family.

Ms. Roush was born April 5, 1931, in rural Douds, the daughter of Ray S. and Elsie Clair Barker Roush.

She grew up in the Mount Sterling area and moved to Keosauqua in the 1950s where she worked at Hotel Manning, babysat for several children in the area and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include one brother, Carl Roush of Keosauqua; and three sisters, Alice Greone of Aannandale, Virginia, Mildred Hutchenson and Francis Roush, both of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Samuel, Keith and Robert Roush; and three sisters, Beatrice Panting, Janice Judd and Louise Nichols.
